kusten: Swedish; the coast
Our name, Kusten, comes from the Swedish word for “coast.” It was inspired by travels to attend a family reunion in the Höga Kusten (High Coast) area of Sweden.
This name captures the essence of the work we do: like the magic that happens where water meets the shore, we are the critical interface between company constraints and customer needs, between technology and people, between the way things are and the future.
At 286 metres above sea level, the Höga Kusten is the world’s highest coastline and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000. The land continues to rise by about 8 millimetres per year due to a geological process called post-glacial land uplift, which has been occurring since the most recent ice age.
Höga Kusten is always rising, and so are we at Kusten Consulting.
About Our Icon
This shape represents a stylized K, for Kusten and the folding together or integration of the ocean (blue) and shore (yellow). Connecting opposing forces, competing interests, diverse opinions. Finding the points where they overlap. Integrating business processes with human capacity.
